Youth
At St John’s we want our youth to know that they are welcomed, valued and loved and above all we want them to meet with God.
Take a look below at what’s going on at St Johns and if you have any questions, just email Jeremy, our Student and Youth Pastor here.
Sunday mornings
Our children’s work runs alongside the 10am Sunday service. Our team are passionate about sharing the bible with our youth and giving them a space to ask questions and come to know more about God and what a faith in Him might look like for each of them.
-
We start each session with a chat about the highs and lows in our week, in a safe setting where everyone is welcome to share as much or as little as they like. We then usually play a game, open the bible and have space for questions and time to pray.
-
There’s no need to register for our groups if you’re aged 12-18 but if its your first time, do let one of the youth leaders know so they can support your child and make sure they’re happy with coming out to the group.
-
The sessions caters for youth aged 12-18. We also have a separate group for kids (ages 4-11) - more details here.
-
All our team are DBS checked, safely recruited through best practice and trained inline with the National Church of England required standards. Details about safeguarding at St John’s can be found here.
Wednesday evenings
Every other Wednesday evening we meet for our mid-week gathering We meet from 6-8pm. We play games, eat epic food (burgers, tacos, loaded chips… that kind of thing...), hear a short talk and chat and pray together. We’d really encourage you to bring your friends along.
Wednesday youth has now been paused until September when we can’t wait to get stuck in again!
Satellites Festival
In Summer 2024 we took our youth to Satellites festival - a 5 day gathering that equips young people to live for God the other 360 days a year. We’re excited to be able to share more details for our next trip soon!
